Designs by Lucy began in 2001 as an independent jewellery brand, based in Gourock on the West Coast of Scotland. Every piece of Designs by Lucy jewellery is still handmade by me, with love and care. Today it's also a little shop of beautiful things, with a curated collection from other small businesses and artists.

I first became interested in jewellery making while working as an au pair in New Jersey. Weekends spent in New York going to galleries and museums, and a night class at a local pottery studio, fuelled my creative side. When I returned to Scotland, I enrolled in a jewellery course in Glasgow.

That's where it all began, and I've been making ever since. Now the shop is also a home for other small makers whose work I love.
